1 out of 5 stars Deceptive Advertising   May 14, 2010

Excellent Bar if you are looking for lots of Sugar...the Amazon product information lists the following as the ingrediants: "Metamyosyn V100 Protein Blend, Corn Syrup, Brown Rice Syrup, Coated Chocolate Chips ..." however the package lists "Corn Syrup" as the first ingrediant.

The bar has the same sugar content as a can of soda or a dessert (which might be ok if it actually tasted good). The irony is that it would actually taste a lot better if it wasn't sooooo sweet...

5 out of 5 stars A good-tasting, high energy bar   April 18, 2010

We have been eating Met-Rx meal replacement bars for several years. They taste good, give a real energy boost and we don't get hungry again for 3 to 4 hours - great for hiking.

1 out of 5 stars Great, if you like eating pure sugar.   April 12, 2010

This baffles me. They call it a "meal replacement" bar, but there's enough sugar in these to make a big wedding cake. This isn't a meal replacment bar. It's an appetizer with 50 table spoons of sugar. So you get a little protein and enough sugar to ruin any health benefits.

4 out of 5 stars Not bad   March 14, 2010

Although they do not taste as good as Cliff Bars, considering the amount of Protein in it, it tastes pretty good. The Chocolate Chip Cookie dough is very good. I am not able to make the Met RX drinks, so the bars come in handy.

5 out of 5 stars Meal Replacement, In a Bar   January 21, 2010

I've tried a lot of supplements and snacks to try to replace a meal... this is the best bet.

I'm a student on a budget. I worked out that if I buy these it's about $2 a meal. That's if I don't buy a drink or something else with it. That's 1- 2 bars for a day of classes, $4 bucks a day, c'mon, that's A HUGE SAVINGS, even over cheapo fast food, and these are nutritious. Eat a good home meal (learn to cook guys, I did, saves money and tastes great, and it's good for impressing the ladies) at least once a day, and you're set.

The benefit of these is that they actually fill you up, not just with fiber as some brands that claim meal replacement do. Some meal replacement things are nutritionally lacking, they fill your belly but you're technically starving cause your deficient in nutrients. These are very well made and nutritionally sound, especially for younger folks like me who need more protein in their diets, if you're older this is still good, but you generally need less protein in your diet.

The taste is great too, a little sweet with some of their flavors, but overall not overpoweringly so like some brands. My favorite is the cookie dough one, it goes down the easiest too, feels like it digests the easiest as well.

Enjoy, this is a smart purchase.
